Course Details
The course is an in-depth introduction to the principles and practice of chi gung with a focus on the basic shibashi taichi form. You will learn the 18 movements of the form to a beginners standard but also understand how each movement supports your well being. You will get a good grounding in the 'energy architecture of the body' - how your vitality is raised and distributed so that you get the most out of your life. The weekend programme aims to give you a real perception of chi and will get you to a relatively advanced stage of practice for a beginner. Numbers are limited to allow personal instruction.

On completion of the course you will be qualified to attend the regular weekly class with the Taunton Chi Gung Group on Thursday evenings and Saturday morning practice sessions in Hestercombe Gardens in the summer months.

Please complete the registration form below which includes a declaration that you are physically and mentally capable of doing the course.

Please wear comfortable clothing: loose fitting trousers or leggings and soft, flat-soled shoes. Trainers are not advisable. If you have nothing suitable wear thick socks.

For lunch on Saturday we can reserve a table at the vegan cafe next door.

Chi Gung exercise is suitable for almost everyone but if you have a physical or mental health condition that has required professional attention in the last year or are pregnant, are taking any long-term medication it is your responsibility to inform the instructor. Remember to work within your limitations and observe the '70% rule' (do about 30% less than you think you can achieve).
